The choice spread is for a fork with exactly two branches, both of which look acceptable. It doesn't tell you which is right — it shows the price of each road and the thing you aren't seeing in the fork.
It doesn't suit the case where you have already chosen and want confirmation: then the fourth position reads as approval whatever it says. And it doesn't suit three or more options — add positions, or narrow the field first.
The heart of the choice is what the fork is actually about. This often reveals that the choice isn't between two jobs but between security and interest, and the whole rest of the reading changes accordingly.
The first option and the second option are not "good and bad" but two different sets of consequences. Compare them on one axis: what each gives and what each takes. A Major Arcana card on one road means that road is larger in consequence, not better.
What you aren't seeing is the most valuable position in the spread. It answers the question you didn't ask, and it is frequently the one that changes the decision.
Advice is read as an action, not as a vote for one branch. The spread deliberately doesn't choose: the decision stays yours.
Name both options explicitly and symmetrically: "stay in my current job or take the offer". Don't build a judgement into the wording — "stay in this swamp or finally leave" already contains the answer, and the spread will repeat it back to you.
The mistake is treating the prettier card as the winning option. A beautiful card on a road can mean a pleasant start and no future. Look at the give-and-take pair, not at the impression the picture makes.
